From Bideford take the A39 towards Bude. Turn right off the A39, signposted to Hartland. Proceed through the village of Hartland and follow signs to Stoke.

As you enter the hamlet of Stoke turn sharp left immediately before the red telephone box, signposted Elmscott. Continue up this lane for about 3/4 mile and turn right at Newton crossroads signposted Elmscott.

Follow this lane for about 3/4 mile to a crossroads. Go straight-over past the dead-end sign, signposted Kernstone. Continue to the end of the lane.

The left hand gate opens to the driveway of Spekes House.
