Introduction

Spekes is a family run business. It is a special place to us; where we have brought up our three children and spent many happy years. As a holiday house we think it offers the ultimate 'getaway' and an increasingly popular alternative to the more sophisticated consumerist holiday environment.

We have furnished the house with quality furnishings but in an uncluttered fashion and we have tried to compliment the feeling of space and excellent natural light afforded to the property by its south facing position and elevated hillside location.

Underpinning it all is our genuine commitment to excellence in terms of the standard of our service. The house is thoroughly cleaned between lets and freshly laundered linen provided throughout. Whilst you will be left to enjoy your holiday in privacy, our local manager is on hand to deal promptly with any problems or questions you have during your stay.

We very much hope to see you as a guest in the future.

Rupert & Claire Bedford.

The house itself is of fairly modern design, the original stone cottage having been completely renovated circa 1990. It has full oil-fired central heating, mains electricity, wireless broadband connection and a natural spring water supply.

The garden area is screened by a hedge of escalonia and fuscia and set on two levels to the west of the house and up on the hillside behind. There is a seating area and lovely views all around. Beyond the garden there is a paddock which, though belonging to the house, is grazed by the neighbouring farmer's stock.

There is a public footpath which runs down the drive and past the front of the house and on down to the waterfall and beach Spekes Mill Mouth. This is used generally by a few locals, walkers and surfers.
